Chiefs' Spencer Ware out vs. Jaguars

Jake Roth / USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware won't play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to team website writer BJ Kissel.

It's the first game Ware will miss this season after he suffered a concussion in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts. The 24-year-old was named the starting running back to begin the season while Jamaal Charles, who was placed on injured reserve this week, was recovering from an ACL tear.

Ware has 511 rushing yards and 313 receiving yards with three total touchdowns through seven games.

Charcandrick West is expected to take over starting duties this week, while the recently claimed Bishop Sankey will likely see some snaps in relief duty.
