Giants exercise Moore's 2017 option

The San Francisco Giants have picked up Matt Moore's $7-million option for the 2017 season, the team announced Thursday.

For the Giants, it was a no-brainer. In his first season with the team, Moore was 6-5 with a 4.08 ERA in 68 1/3 innings after being acquired at the trade deadline from the Tampa Bay Rays.

In his lone playoff start this year, he was spectacular, going eight innings of one-run ball against the eventual World Series champion Chicago Cubs.
