Already without prized freshmen Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles, Duke added guards Grayson Allen and Matt Jones to the injured list during Friday night's preseason destruction of Virginia State.

Allen fought through a shoulder ailment for much of the game, and went down clutching it at least three times. He left the game at one point, but later returned, only to depart again and take the rest of the night off.

Jones played only three minutes because of hamstring tightness.

The Blue Devils now have four players, all expected to be major contributors this year, nursing injuries with two weeks to go until the beginning of the regular season.

"We have to evaluate how we've been practicing," coach Mike Krzyzewski said after the 90-59 drubbing, according to C.L. Brown of ESPN. "Are we going too hard? We've got too many guys on the shelf right now."

Duke opens the regular season Nov. 11 against Marist.
