Les Miles is 'fighting like heck' for a new job

A month after being dismissed as head coach by LSU, Les Miles is ready to get back in the game.

The 62-year-old has hired Trace Armstrong as the latest member of his agency team, in hopes of landing another gig.

"I'm fighting like heck," Miles told Ross Dellenger of the Advocate. "Trying to win a championship at another place."

Armstrong, a former Pro Bowl defensive end, holds an impressive list of clients in the college coaching ranks, representing Ohio State's Urban Meyer, Notre Dame's Brian Kelly, Houston's Tom Herman, and Penn State's James Franklin.

According to Dellenger, one of the provisions of Miles' buyout of $9.6 million over six years is that he must at least attempt to secure a new coaching job. The buyout payments would be offset against his new salary should he find a new program to take him on.

As the calendar turns to November, it will become increasingly clear which jobs will be open for next season, and with a resume like Miles', he will surely be in high demand.
