Wilson says Week 3 knee injury should have kept him out 4 weeks

Troy Wayrynen / USA TODAY Sports

Russell Wilson has a pretty good excuse for his lack of mobility through the last month.

The Seattle Seahawks quarterback told media on Thursday that after suffering an MCL sprain in Week 3, he should have been out of the lineup for at least four weeks, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

He was expected to rest through Seattle's Week 4 matchup with the New York Jets before heading to a bye, but Wilson played through the injury and hasn't missed any starts since.

If Wilson had taken the doctor's advice, perhaps he would be back to full health at this point, but given his lack of rest, the quarterback will likely be dealing with the effects throughout most of the season. Wilson has just 33 rushing yards this season, rushing for negative production in two of his last three games.
