Redskins' Reed, Norman cleared to make London trip

The Washington Redskins may be poised for significant upgrades on both sides of the ball this week in London.

Tight end Jordan Reed and cornerback Josh Norman have been cleared for the overseas trip after progressing in their concussion recoveries, head coach Jay Gruden announced Thursday.

Gruden added that each player will practice with the team Friday before determining their availability for Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Reed has missed the past two games while Norman is looking to make a quick return being injured in Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions.

Both have been limited participants in practice throughout the week, and the fact they're making the trip could be taken as an expectation they'll advance through protocol over the weekend.

Reed has 33 catches for 316 yards and two touchdowns this season. His return would again give Kirk Cousins one of the NFL's most dynamic middle-of-the-field targets to lean on.

Norman, meanwhile, has been everything Washington could've expected since landing with the club as a high-priced free-agent during the offseason. His presence would be particularly beneficial to a secondary facing the difficult task of matching up with A.J. Green and the rest of the Bengals passing attack.
