Report: Bears' Fox has told friends he's done with Culter

Billy Hurst / USA TODAY Sports

After a season-and-a-half of Jay Cutler's inconsistent play, Chicago Bears head coach John Fox has reportedly had enough.

With Cutler's guaranteed money up at the end of this season, Fox has told friends he's done with the 33-year-old quarterback, league sources told Mike Mulligan of the Chicago Tribune.

When asked about the report Thursday, Fox told reporters there's "absolutely no truth" to it according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Cutler recognized earlier this week that Fox has no choice but to play and support him this week against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night with Brian Hoyer injured.

If the Bears front office agrees with Fox's reported decision to move on, the team's final nine games will essentially be used as a 31-team tryout for Cutler. However, the coach has amassed a 7-16 record since his hiring, so it might not be his choice to make.
