Packers' Montgomery: I don't care if I'm RB or WR in fantasy football

In news that probably doesn't surprise anyone, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Ty Montgomery, like many NFL players, doesn't care about your fantasy football team.

In the wake of injuries to Eddie Lacy and James Starks, Montgomery has been splitting time between running back and receiver, with 12 carries and 20 catches over the past two games.

This has led to the question of whether Montgomery should gain eligibility as a running back in fantasy football. While it's important for owners of Montgomery, the 23-year-old doesn't care.

"Some friends have been texting me, and my brother even mentioned it because he plays," Montgomery said, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

"I don't even play fantasy football. I don't even know how that stuff works."

Montgomery can now be used as a running back in ESPN leagues, but remains solely a receiver in Yahoo leagues.

"I guess I'm a hybrid; I don't really know what you call it," he said, when asked how he viewed himself. "I like to say I'm a football player, because I feel comfortable anywhere. It doesn't matter."

With Montgomery likely to remain a significant part of the rushing attack for the foreseeable future, fantasy football players, including Montgomery's brother, should be happy.

"Oh yeah, he picked me up early," Montgomery said. "He better have."
