McCoy sits out 2nd straight practice

LeSean McCoy's status remains very much in doubt as the practice week moves forward.

The Buffalo Bills running back sat out a second consecutive team session Thursday, leaving Friday as the only opportunity for him to do any on-field work in preparation for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.

McCoy returned to practice last Friday after initially sustaining his hamstring injury earlier in the week, and the apparent progress was enough for him to suit up on game day.

After aggravating the issue in a loss to the Miami Dolphins, though, it appears possible he'll need at least a week of rest before again being cleared to play.

McCoy being forced to the sidelines would push Mike Gillislee into the starting spot, with Reggie Bush presumably taking on a more significant role in passing situations.

Being without its top playmaker for the second of two matchups with the first-place Patriots would be a crushing blow to Buffalo's league-best rushing attack, but the focus will be on ensuring McCoy is healthy for a playoff push down the stretch.
