Starting shooting guard Gary Harris and reserve big man Darrell Arthur will not play in the Denver Nuggets' opener Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Harris has been dealing with a groin strain and is close to a return, adding he would play if the game was critical.
"It’s not because I don’t feel good, just being on the safe side," Harris said, according to the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey. "Another few days won’t hurt to keep getting better."
Arthur is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery in the offseason. Both players are considered day to day.
Will Barton, Wilson Chandler, and rookie Jamal Murray should see more action as long as Harris is shelved.
