Week 8 Betting Preview: Predictions for every matchup

Each week during the NFL season, theScore's Dane Belbeck will handicap every matchup and offer up a three-pack of picks.

Seattle Seahawks at New Orleans Saints (+3)

Seattle's defense put forth an exceptional "bend but don't break" performance in Sunday's 6-6 tie with the Cardinals, allowing 443 total yards but just two field goals. That will be much more difficult against the Saints, who boast the league's top red zone offense. Saints 30, Seahawks 27

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (-4.5)

An unlikely battle of successful rookie signal-callers takes place in Dallas on Sunday night. Second overall pick Carson Wentz has drawn rave reviews, but Dak Prescott has been even better for the Cowboys. He also has Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield, something Wentz doesn't have the luxury of. Cowboys 27, Eagles 17

Oakland Raiders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1)

The Buccaneers are 0-2 at home, while the Raiders are a remarkable 4-0 on the road. Jameis Winston will buck that trend with a big day against the struggling Oakland secondary. Buccaneers 28, Raiders 20

Remaining Week 8 matchups:

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans (-3.5)

The last four Thursday games have been terrible, sporting an average margin of 15 points. Tennessee won't win by that many, but should ride its impressive running game to a comfortable win. Titans 24, Jaguars 14

Washington Redskins (+3) at Cincinnati Bengals (Game to be played at Wembley Stadium in London, England)

The Bengals' three wins have come against opponents who are a combined 5-16. Washington comes in at 3-4, but Josh Norman should contain A.J. Green enough to pull off the upset. Redskins 24, Bengals 23

Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts (+3)

Six of the Colts' seven games have finished within 8 points, so it's safe to bet this one will be close. Andrew Luck makes one more play than Alex Smith and Indianapolis gets the win. Colts 30, Chiefs 27

Detroit Lions (+2.5) at Houston Texans

There's probably no chance Brock Osweiler plays as poorly as he did last week versus Denver, but it's hard to see him making enough plays to beat a capable Lions squad. Lions 27, Texans 24

Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers (-3)

The Panthers went into their bye a shocking 1-5 on the season, but they've had two weeks to scheme for the Cardinals. Cam Newton makes enough plays to get Carolina back in the win column. Panthers 24, Cardinals 20

New England Patriots (-6.5) at Buffalo Bills

There's nobody better at taking away a team's strength than Bill Belichick and the Patriots, and they'll force Tyrod Taylor to beat them through the air. LeGarrette Blount has a big day and the Patriots get revenge for a Week 4 home loss to the Bills.

New York Jets (-3) at Cleveland Browns

Who stinks less - the Jets or the Browns? Cleveland is well on its way to an 0-16 season, and has no idea who's playing quarterback against the Jets. We want to pick a home upset, but that's too risky, even when the Jets are involved. Jets 23, Browns 14

San Diego Chargers (+5) at Denver Broncos

The Chargers are a very impressive 5-2 against the spread this season, and look to repeat their Week 6 win over the Broncos. Philip Rivers struggled against the Denver defense last time, but still pulled out the win. The reverse happens here, but the Chargers keep it close. Broncos 24, Chargers 20

Green Bay Packers (+3) at Atlanta Falcons

The first rule in a shootout is take the points. The Packers will limit the Falcons' ground game, forcing Matt Ryan to match Aaron Rodgers through the air. We'll take Rodgers in that battle after a strong game last week. Packers 34, Falcons 31

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears (+6.5)

Jay Cutler returns from injury to face a defense ranked fourth against the pass. That likely won't go well, but Chicago's had 10 days to prepare for this game and should keep it within a touchdown. Vikings 23, Bears 17

Picks Summary

Cowboys -4.5 (Silver)
Bucs -1 (Bronze)
Titans -3.5
Redskins +3
Colts +3
Lions +2.5
Panthers -3
Patriots -6.5
Jets -3
