UCLA to be without Anigbogu for 4-6 weeks after knee surgery

Spruce Derden / USA TODAY Sports

UCLA's prized freshman center Ike Anigbogu will be out four-to-six weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

Bruins coach Steve Alford announced the news to reporters on Tuesday, as per Blair Angulo of Scout.com, saying that the four-star recruit suffered the injury during practice last week.

Anigbogu was ranked as the eighth-best center in the 2016 recruiting class, and listed 60th overall on the ESPN 100.

The Corona, Calif., native joined five-star recruits Lonzo Ball and T.J. Leaf to give the Bruins one of the top classes in the country, but his debut looks to be on hold for the time being.

The Bruins open the season Nov. 11 against Pacific.
