Broncos' Anderson, Booker will continue splitting carries

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak was impressed by his team's running game Monday night, and plans to continue that formula for success.

C.J. Anderson and rookie Devontae Booker split carries in Denver's 27-9 win over Houston, and Kubiak indicated the duo will continue doing so Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.

"I think C.J. has been playing well,” Kubiak said during his Tuesday press conference, according to Mike Florio of NBC Sports.

"I think last night we did a better job up front; we gave him some more room to run. I think when guys push each other, last year it was C.J. and Ronnie (Hillman) pushing each other and I think (Booker) ... is becoming more comfortable with what we’re doing. We're more comfortable with (Booker) on the field in pass protection right now. We're just growing as a group. Here we go in Week 8 and hopeful those kids keep coming along. It’s going to make us better if they do."

Anderson rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, while Booker added 83 yards and a touchdown on 17 attempts, overpowering the Texans' front seven.

The Broncos are tied for the AFC West lead with the Oakland Raiders - each sporting a 5-2 mark - so Kubiak would be wise to keep doing what's working.
