4-star athlete Russ Yeast commits to Louisville

Glenn Beil-USA TODAY Sports

Four-star athlete Russ Yeast announced his commitment to Louisville on Monday, according to Mark Ennis of the Card Chronicle.

Yeast originally committed to Kentucky, where his father Craig Yeast played for the Wildcats during the 1990s, but opened his commitment back up in the summer.

The athlete will start on defense at cornerback, but could also see some time on offense at receiver.

"He's a defensive recruit for them, but he could play on the other side of the ball," Craig Yeast told InsideTheVille. "He's a decent offensive player who could be used in packages or if it doesn't work out at corner he could always move to receiver. He's a physical kid, a lot tougher than people thought he was."

Yeast joins fellow four-star receiver Justin Marshall and running back Colin Wilson in the Cardinals' 2017 recruiting class. He also held offers from Iowa, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Nebraska, among others.
