Michigan's Chris Evans suffered concussion vs. Illinois

Michigan coach Jim Harbugh confirmed Monday that running back Chris Evans suffered a concussion Saturday against Illinois.

"Yeah, anything like that is ruled a concussion. I think he's doing good," Harbaugh said at his weekly press conference.

Evans walked off the field with medical staff and was taken to the locker room to observe protocol following the hit to his helmet.

"What I’m hearing from the doctors, he seemed to be in a good place relatively quickly by halftime,” Harbaugh said Saturday after the game.

Harbaugh neither confirmed nor denied Evans' availability for Saturday against Michigan State.

"We'll see, it's a little early to know yet."

The freshman is the Wolverines' leading rusher with 416 yards on 49 carries, with three touchdowns.
