Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy says he was fully cleared by the team's medical staff and his hamstring felt "amazing" in pregame warmup, Mike Rodak of ESPN reports.

McCoy was not expected to play Sunday after injuring his hamstring in practice this week, but started Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins before tweaking the injury once again.

"I tried to take off on a route and I felt pain," McCoy said, according to the Bills' Twitter account. "Came out. Smart thing to do. Today I felt great (pregame), wouldn't have played otherwise."

Head coach Rex Ryan was not clear about McCoy's status for next week, describing the injury as "soreness" without acknowledging whether or not it was an aggravation of the previous hamstring issue.

McCoy rushed the ball eight times for 11 yards before being forced to exit.
