The President of the United States can proudly say that a team from Chicago made the World Series during his time in office - just not the one he roots for.

Barack Obama, a well-known White Sox fan, tweeted his support of his cross-town rivals after the Cubs defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers to advance to the World Series for the first time in 71 years. First lady Michelle Obama is on the other side of the rivalry, however, as her father Fraser C. Robinson was a Cubs fan, a tradition that has been passed on to her.

In addition to the Obamas, a number of celebrities and athletes also weighed in on the Cubs' 2016 magic.
