It has been 32 years since Hall of Famer Charles Barkley donned the blue and orange of Auburn, so the school felt it was about time to honor him with his own statue.

Barkley played three seasons at Auburn, earning SEC Player of the Year in his junior season, where he averaged 15.1 points and 9.5 rebounds. The Tigers only made the NCAA Basketball tournament once in Barkley's career, losing in the first round.

In his career as a Tiger, Barkley scored 1,183 points, 806 rebounds, and 137 assists, and had his No. 34 jersey retired in 2001.
