The Houston Texans placed cornerback Kevin Johnson on injured reserve Saturday due to a broken foot sustained in last week's win over the Indianapolis Colts.
The 2015 first-round pick had surgery on the same foot over the offseason, and is reportedly in danger of missing the rest of the season.
If the injury isn't season-ending, Johnson is eligible to return after eight weeks under new IR rules.
The second-year corner appeared to have taken a significant step in his development this season, receiving the game ball for an outstanding performance against the Colts.
In a corresponding move, the Texans activated safety Lonnie Ballentine.
