Encarnacion found out first-hand Wednesday night those feelings are quite mutual. When he left Rogers Centre after the ALCS loss a large group of Blue Jays fans mobbed the slugger outside the stadium and begged him to re-sign with the team.

Encarnacion, who will become a free agent after the World Series along with fellow Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista, became a franchise icon after joining the team as a spare part in July 2008. His 239 home runs as a Blue Jay rank third in club history, behind only Bautista and Carlos Delgado.
