Sunday was not a good day for Josh Perkins.

The Gonzaga point guard was cited for physical control of a vehicle while under the influence early Sunday morning, according to Thomas Clouse of The Spokesman-Review. The court records pertaining to the case do not disclose whether the vehicle Perkins was in control of was parked or being driven.

Bulldogs head coach Mark Few addressed the situation Friday, confirming the issue, but not giving an exact punishment for the redshirt sophomore.

"We take this situation very seriously, and we will give Josh the support that he needs to help him learn from this," Few said via a written statement. "He understands the serious nature of this charge and has made a commitment to the process within the University."

Perkins started in all 36 games last season, averaging 10.1 points along with 4.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in 30.8 minutes. His performance as a redshirt freshman earned him West Coast Conference All-Freshman team honors.
