Report: Tunsil's injury caused by slipping in shower

Kamil Krzaczynski / USA TODAY Sports

Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil's surprising absence from the starting lineup Sunday was not caused by an injury suffered in warmups, as initially reported, but instead by a slip in the shower.

Tunsil told his team that he hurt his ankle falling in the shower at the team's hotel, Miami radio host Andy Slater reports, and apparently the ailment was bad enough to prevent him from playing.

The first-round pick has endured a rocky rookie season. After falling in the draft when video of him smoking from a bong emerged, Tunsil has transitioned from tackle to guard and is still trying to find his footing on the interior of the line.

Apparently, finding his footing in showers also remains an issue.
