The Chicago Cubs announced that left-hander Jon Lester will start Game 1 of the World Series against right-hander Corey Kluber and the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday at Progressive Field.

It marks the fourth World Series start of Lester's career. The 11-year veteran and two-time champion is 3-0 with a 0.43 ERA and 0.76 WHIP in those games.

On the heels of another All-Star season, Lester has put together a strong October. Through three postseason starts, he's 2-0 with a 0.86 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 21 innings.

Lester has only faced the Indians once since his move to the National League in 2015, though he does own strong career numbers at Progressive Field. In eight starts, he's 4-0 with a 3.72 ERA.

Kluber will be making his World Series debut. The 30-year-old former Cy Young winner is 2-1 with a 0.98 ERA in three postseason starts, and went 10-5 with a 3.24 ERA over 16 regular-season home starts this season. Trevor Bauer and Josh Tomlin will round out the playoff rotation, scheduled for Games 2 and 3, respectively.

The Cubs, meanwhile, will counter with Jake Arrieta for Game 2, followed by Kyle Hendricks and John Lackey, according to Carrie Muskat of MLB.com.
