Nobody ever wants to get injured - especially not during a preseason game.

Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams limped off the court Monday after landing awkwardly on his right leg. He appeared to have his ankle caught on the heel of Real Madrid center Gustavo Ayon.

Adams headed straight for the locker room and did not return for the remainder of the first half.

The burly 23-year-old is primed for a breakout year in the wake of Kevin Durant's departure. Adams is a stalwart rim protector and has developed a soft touch in the pick-and-roll. Losing him for any amount of time would be a huge blow to OKC.

Adams averaged eight points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks while shooting 61.3 percent from the field last season.
