Beal tired of injury criticism: 'Do you think I want to get hurt?'

Bradley Beal is well aware that some fans have little patience for his long list of injuries, and, upon returning to Washington Wizards practice Saturday after a mild concussion, the shooting guard took issue with the narrative that's been growing for four years.

"People make it seem like I'm trying to get hurt, you know what I'm saying," Beal said, according to the Washington Post's Candace Buckner, who included a few of the reactions on Twitter, and claimed Beal specifically cited one of them:

"I want to question, do you think I want to get hurt?" he continued. "It's not on purpose, it just happens. It just naturally happens."

The 23-year-old, who has missed the equivalent of a full season over the course of his four-year NBA career due to a number of injuries, passed the concussion protocol Friday and figures to be good to go moving forward.

"I'm just going to recover from it and get back to my team," he said.

Beal is close to a career 40-percent 3-point shooter, and the backcourt he forms with John Wall is assumed to be one of the league's best. However, his injury problems and the pair's admitted tension has held back the Wizards as a team.
