Irsay: No serious issues with Luck's shoulder

Breathe easy, Colts fans.

As the team continues to limit Andrew Luck's reps throughout the practice week, questions have slowly begun to mount about the health of his shoulder both in the short and long term.

Meeting the London media ahead of this week's international game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, however, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was emphatic in stating that there are no such concerns about his star quarterback.

Luck missed two games due to shoulder issues last season, before a lacerated kidney forced him to be shut down for the final seven. The soreness again creeping up this year was bound to lead to some uncertainty, but his on-field performances to this point would appear to support the idea that the Colts are simply being cautious where possible.

Irsay added that Luck won't require surgery and that he's not expected to miss any time this season as a result of issues with his shoulder.

It's Luck's presence, more than anything else, that will keep an otherwise underwhelming Colts team hanging around in the AFC South playoff picture.

The former first overall pick, who was made the NFL's highest-paid player with a monster extension this past offseason, has racked up 913 passing yards and six touchdowns through the first three games of the year.
