Fantasy: Waiver Wire - Week 13

Every Tuesday during the season, theScore's David P. Woods runs down his recommended waiver wire pickups.

Quarterback

Colin Kaepernick, 49ers

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at CHI 24% $5

Kaepernick threw for three touchdowns and nearly 300 yards in Week 12, and added more than 100 yards with his legs. Incredibly, he trails only Aaron Rodgers in average fantasy points per game over the last four weeks. With a Bears defense lacking in talent on the schedule next, there's no reason Kaepernick can't keep this going.

Running Back

Kenneth Dixon, Ravens

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. MIA 29% $20

Dixon played a season-high 31 snaps in Week 12, more than starter Terrance West. Slowly, very slowly, the Ravens are handing the reins in their rushing attack to the rookie. He should be owned in all formats.

Dion Lewis, Patriots

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. LA 57% $15

Lewis rushed six times for 24 yards and added four catches for 37 yards in Week 12. He's still fighting LeGarrette Blount and James White for playing time, but Lewis' involvement in the offense could increase each week as he shakes off the rust from his long injury absence.

Derrick Henry, Titans

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
BYE 46% $15

Henry took eight carries for 60 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 and arguably outplayed starter DeMarco Murray, who has shown signs of wearing down in recent weeks. Henry will continue to have some FLEX value, but would be a borderline RB1 if Murray were to miss any time.

Rex Burkhead, Bengals

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. PHI 4% $5

The next man up after Giovani Bernard's ACL injury, Burkhead out-snapped Jeremy Hill in Week 12 (though that may be due to an ankle injury Hill suffered). Burkhead rushed five times for 29 yards and caught passes for 19 yards in the game - hardly inspiring numbers, but they did come against the NFL's No. 1 rush defense. He's worth adding in deep PPR leagues.

Alex Collins, Seahawks

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. CAR 3% $5

Thomas Rawls was completely ineffective in his first start since returning from injury. If he can't get it going, it's possible the Seahawks could give the rookie Collins a shot. They don't have any better options - Christine Michael was cut and C.J. Prosise is hurt.

Wide Receiver

Tyreek Hill, Chiefs

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. ATL 36% $25

Hill caught nine passes for 52 yards and a touchdown in Week 12, added a short rushing touchdown, and also took a kick back for another six points. Hill isn't a conventional receiver, and Jeremy Maclin will eventually return from injury, but the Chiefs aren't stupid - they will keep force-feeding the ball to Hill and letting him work his magic. Three touchdowns in three different phases of the game isn't something Hill (or any other player in the NFL) is likely to repeat, but Hill should retain WR2 value with a very high ceiling.

Malcolm Mitchell, Patriots

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. LA 3% $15

The Patriots haven't had much success drafting receivers, but they may have found something in Mitchell. After scoring the first touchdown of his career last week, Mitchell burned Darrelle Revis twice to add two more scores to his stat sheet in Week 12. Tom Brady has a lot of mouths to feed in his receiving corps, but Mitchell may have leapfrogged Danny Amendola and Chris Hogan in the pecking order.

Anquan Boldin, Lions

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at NO 22% $10

The 36-year-old has been heavily targeted in the Lions' last two games. His high floor makes him a low-end WR3/FLEX option, particularly in PPR leagues.

Tyler Boyd, Bengals

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. PHI 50% $10

Boyd's first game as a starter yielded only 62 yards receiving, but the potential volume of targets he'll see with A.J. Green out indefinitely makes Boyd worth an add.

Marquess Wilson, Bears

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. SF 1% $3

Wilson caught eight passes for 125 yards and a touchdown Sunday. It's possible he is the Bears pass-catcher to own with Alshon Jeffery suspended and Zach Miller out for the season. Though Matt Barkley isn't a quarterback fantasy owners will get excited about, the Bears have a very soft passing schedule over the next month.

Taylor Gabriel, Falcons

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. KC 6% $3

The Cardinals sold out to slow down Julio Jones in Week 12, forcing Matt Ryan to look to receivers like Gabriel. The speedster flashed game-breaking explosiveness on his two touchdowns, but he remains only a fringe fantasy option.

Tight End

C.J. Fiedorowicz, Texans

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at GB 35% $2

It's all about volume for Fiedorowicz, who is seeing an average of about seven passing targets over his last eight games, with three touchdowns over that span.

Jermaine Gresham, Cardinals

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. WAS 0% $1

Gresham has a touchdown in each of his last two games. He's worth a look in deep leagues.
