Bulls' Wade: Rondo is 'best PG I've ever played with'

With all due respect to Goran Dragic, Gary Payton, and Mario Chalmers, three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade believes the greatest point guard he's ever played with is, technically, someone he hasn't actually played with yet.

Wade told reporters Wednesday that Rajon Rondo is "the best point guard I've ever played with," despite the new Chicago Bulls teammates not yet taking the floor together in an NBA game.

Rondo made his way to the Windy City over the summer on a two-year, $28-million contract after spending last season with the Sacramento Kings, where he averaged a double-double of 11.9 points and a league-best 11.7 dimes.

"He’s (Rondo's) got the best voice on the team," Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg said following the team's first day of training camp. "When you have a point guard out there who can get you into something and talk the way he does, that sets the tone for everybody.”

Rondo's ability to run an offense and dish the ball at a high rate has long been his calling card, having led the NBA in assists on three occasions (2012, 2013, 2016).

Rondo also led the NBA in passes per game last season with 74.2, which should help ease Wade's transition to the Bulls after 13 seasons in South Beach.
