Jones: Bryant hasn't had MRI, expected to play Week 4

Kevin Jairaj / USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that wide receiver Dez Bryant has yet to have an MRI on his injured knee.

Jones made the curious announcement on 105.3 The Fan, adding Bryant could have an MRI later Tuesday.

Jones also said he expects Bryant to play in Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Bryant tweaked his knee in Sunday's win over the Chicago Bears. X-rays reportedly came back negative, but it was widely reported Bryant would have an MRI to check for a soft tissue injury. Typically, this would happen the day after the game.

The 105.3 hosts didn't press Jones to explain why Bryant has yet to have an MRI.
