Gordon: Hitting HR for Fernandez was the best moment of my life

For Dee Gordon, there was no better time to hit his first home run of the season.
After his "brother" Jose Fernandez was killed in a boating accident early Sunday morning, Gordon led the Marlins bats with a leadoff home run in the team's first at-bat since the incident. The Marlins infielder didn't hold back on what the rare homer meant to him.
"Man, I told the boys, 'If ya'll don't believe in God, ya'll might as well start.' ... I don't have kids, so that's the best moment of my life to hit a home run for him," Gordon told FOX Sports Florida's Craig Minervini.
In 548 career games between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Marlins, Gordon owns just nine home runs. None, however, will hold as much meaning as his latest.
