Ibaka wants to stay with Magic for 'as many years as possible'

While he's set to become a free agent at the conclusion of the 2016-17 season, newly acquired power forward Serge Ibaka doesn't plan on leaving Orlando anytime soon.

"I’m looking to stay here to play forever - for (as) many, many years as possible," Serge Ibaka told Josh Robbins of The Orlando Sentinel.

"I’m not really worried about my contract year or my long term."

Ibaka was acquired by the Magic on draft night, getting traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova, and the right to ninth overall pick Domantas Sabonis.

Instead of worrying about his next deal, Ibaka is focusing his energy on the upcoming season, hoping to lead the Magic to the postseason for the first time since trading Dwight Howard in 2012.

"One of the things I learned playing on a good team is when the team wins, when you make the playoffs, everybody looks good," Ibaka said. "So that’s what will be my focus right now, because if we win and make the playoffs, everything will take care of itself."

In 78 games this past season, Ibaka averaged 12.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks on 47.9 percent shooting.
