Chicago Bears running back Jeremy Langford is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a sprained ankle, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

It was thought Langford had avoided a significant injury when it was reported that it wasn't his Achilles earlier on Monday, but the four-to-six week timeframe suggests at least a high ankle sprain.

Jordan Howard will see an increased workload with Langford sidelined, as he did in a Week 3 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. In Langford's absence Howard tallied 92 total yards on 13 touches.

Langford, a fourth-round pick in 2015, was expected to lead the Bears' backfield this season after a rookie year in which he played sparingly behind veteran Matt Forte.
