Florida's Wilson doesn't regret guaranteeing win vs. Tennessee

The team he called "ducks" and said wasn't capable of beating Florida made Quincy Wilson eat his words Saturday, but the Gators defensive back told reporters he has no regrets about guaranteeing victory over Tennessee.

"No," Wilson bluntly said after Saturday's game when asked if he would take back any of his trash talk, according to Jacquie Franciulli of Scout. "That's just what we do."

After weeks of watching teammates guarantee a 12th straight victory over the Volunteers, Wilson joined the party last week, vowing triumph and ushering the now-famous line, "Ducks don't pull trucks."

Wilson was made to eat his words, though, as his team blew an 18-point lead and ultimately fell 38-28. He recorded an interception and a tackle in the game, but was part of a Gators secondary that was atypically torched.

"I think maybe as a team we got a little content that we were up 21-3 at the half," Wilson said. "We just, I don't know, we just started feeling like we could get away with not doing what we were doing to win, to get up like we were up."

Wilson acknowledged he was "hurting" after the defeat, but said the decision won't deter him or his teammates from reaching their ultimate goal this season.

"National championship teams always go in there with one loss," said the junior. "We ain't worried about it. Just fix those errors we made on film and make sure we're staying on top of things."

The 3-1 Gators will try to rebound Saturday at Vanderbilt.
