Alabama's Harris day to day with sprained ankle

Marvin Gentry / USA TODAY Sports

Alabama running back Damien Harris suffered an ankle sprain in Saturday's win over Kent State and will be day to day, head coach Nick Saban told reporters.

Harris was carted to the locker room in the first quarter after he took a helmet shot to his lower leg on the game's opening drive. Harris didn't return, but the Crimson Tide didn't need him, shutting out Kent State 48-0 to stay perfect on the season.

Harris entered the contest with 327 yards and a touchdown on the season. He recorded 18 yards on four carries before exiting the contest.

The nation's top-ranked team hosts Kentucky next week.
