Georgia's Chubb suffers ankle injury in loss to Ole Miss

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

Georgia running back Nick Chubb suffered an ankle injury in the first half Saturday against Ole Miss and didn't return.

The severity of the injury wasn't immediately clear. Georgia officials said at halftime Chubb was "out for now," and presumably, the Bulldogs were reluctant to risk further injury to their star rusher with the score out of reach. Georgia trailed 31-0 at halftime, and didn't made it close in the second half.

The team didn't confirm which ankle Chubb hurt, but ESPN reported on its broadcast it was the same leg on which he suffered his season-ending knee injury last year.

After taking their first loss of the season, Georgia will return home to face Tennessee next week.
