Jamaal Charles' long-awaited return could soon be upon us.
"I think he feels like he can do it," Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Friday, when asked about the running back's availability for Sunday's game against the New York Jets.
Charles was expected to be ready for the start of the season after he tore his ACL in 2015, but the veteran sat out the Chiefs' first two games, with the club appearing hesitant to rush him back into action.
It's likely the Chiefs will ease Charles back by having him split carries with Spencer Ware, who's been the featured back in his absence.
He'll be given an official injury designation later Friday.
