McDavid doesn't want to play for North America again

One tournament as a member of Team North America is more than enough for Connor McDavid.

The team's captain is just 19 years old, meaning he'd be eligible for Team North America if the tournament reprises itself in the same format in four years, but McDavid says he'd much rather occupy a roster spot on Team Canada.

"Honestly, for me in four years, I hope I can definitely represent my country," McDavid said, according to Michael Traikos of the National Post. "I don't think I would want to represent Team North America twice."

In the meantime, McDavid will have his eyes on Thursday's contest between Russia and Finland. A Finland victory would set up a meeting between North America and Canada in the semifinals, while a Russia win would end his tournament.

"That would be so special to play Canada on Saturday night in Toronto at the ACC, it doesn’t get much better than that," he said.

McDavid has recorded three assists in three games for North America.
