Report: Falcons, Schofield agree to 1-year deal

Help is on the way for an ailing Atlanta Falcons pass rush.

Coming off a pair of games in which the defense managed just one sack, Atlanta has re-signed free-agent linebacker O'Brien Schofield to a one-year contract, a source told ESPN's Adam Caplan.

Schofield, a seventh-year veteran who previously spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals, started 10 of his 16 appearances upon first landing with the Falcons last season.

Bringing him back adds some much-needed rotational depth and competition on the edge, where Atlanta is still awaiting a breakout from 2015 first-round pick Vic Beasley.

Schofield has 15.5 sacks across 82 career games.
