Alex Ovechkin's tying goal against Sweden was disallowed Sunday at the World Cup of Hockey after the Russian captain gloved the puck in with seven seconds remaining.

After scoring the eventually nullified tying goal, Ovechkin appeared to plead with the officials that he got a piece of the puck with his stick before it went in.

He also scored on a point shot with the Russian net empty to cut Sweden's lead to 2-1 with 33 seconds left.

Ovechkin finished the game with three shots on goal, four hits, and four penalty minutes - including an embellishment call in the second period - in 16:25 of ice time.
