Fantasy: Waiver Wire - Week 14

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

Every Tuesday during the season, theScore's David P. Woods runs down his recommended waiver wire pickups.

Quarterback

Joe Flacco, Ravens

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at NE 23% $1

Flacco's four touchdowns in Week 13 will catch the eye of some owners, but he travels to play the Patriots next week. Don't expect a repeat performance.

Running Back

Kenneth Dixon, Seahawks

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at NE 46% $20

Week by week, bit by bit, Dixon has proven he's a more efficient runner than Ravens starter Terrance West. Dixon's snaps had increased several weeks leading up to Week 13, suggesting the rookie might steal the starting job. Then West went and scored two touchdowns and reasserted his status atop the depth chart. Dixon remains a recommended stash, but he will probably need West to get hurt before he has anything more than FLEX value.

Dion Lewis, Patriots

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. BAL 58% $15

The good news for Lewis is he looks dynamic with the ball in his hands, as he did before getting hurt last season. The bad news is he's just not getting enough volume to be anything more than a FLEX play. LeGarrette Blount remains the Patriots' hammer back, forcing Lewis to share passing-down work with James White. It's possible the Patriots are deliberately easing Lewis back into the lineup and plan to unleash him one of these weeks. Add him to your roster just in case it happens.

Ty Montgomery, Packers

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. SEA 35% $15

The Packers might have learned Sunday that Montgomery is the best running back on their roster - even though he's not really a running back. The versatile Montgomery rushed six times for 40 yards and caught two passes for 16 yards. It's time for the Packers to stop wasting touches on the ineffective James Starks and stop trying to execute conventional running plays. It's time for Montgomery to start. Scoop him up if he was dropped in your league and hope the Packers see the light.

Christine Michael, Packers

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. SEA 44% $2

Michael got his first significant playing time since joining the Packers in Week 13, taking nine carries for 19 yards. As unimpressive as those numbers are, Michael might actually be an upgrade over James Starks. In a revenge game against the Seahawks, who cut him earlier this season, Michael is an option for desperate owners in deep leagues.

Mike Gillislee, Bills

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. PIT 23% $1

LeSean McCoy's backup poached two touchdowns Sunday. Gillislee doesn't have much fantasy value outside of deep leagues as long as McCoy remains healthy, but Shady is no lock to stay on the field.

Wide Receiver

Malcolm Mitchell, Patriots

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. BAL 29% $15

Mitchell played nearly every offensive snap for the Patriots in the team's first game with Rob Gronkowski out for the season, which is more than Julian Edelman can say. Mitchell has a tough matchup at Denver in the fantasy semifinals, but good matchups next week and in Week 16. Add him if you can.

Brandon LaFell, Bengals

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at CLE 17% $5

LaFell put up 95 yards and a touchdown in Week 13. It seems he, not Tyler Boyd, is benefiting most from A.J. Green's injury.

Breshad Perriman, Ravens

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at NE 2% $5

Perriman has touchdowns in each of his past two games. He's quietly becoming a fantasy factor.

Tyler Lockett, Seahawks

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at GB 37% $5

Lockett remains a bit player in the Seahawks' offense, but he looks more explosive every week and could work his way into the WR3 conversation before this season is over. If you're seeking a lottery ticket kind of receiver, Lockett is a player to target.

Tight End

Ladarius Green, Steelers

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at BUF 23% $25

In Week 13, Green announced his arrival as the fantasy force many expected him to be when he signed with the Steelers in free agency. Injuries stole most of Green's season from us, but he is healthy now and was dominant against the over-matched Giants, finishing with six catches for a career-high 110 yards and a touchdown despite playing less than half the Steelers' offensive snaps. If you're an owner who lost Rob Gronkowski, unload the rest of your FAAB dollars to acquire Green.

C.J. Fiedorowicz, Texans

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at IND 40% $1

Brock Osweiler can do one thing well: throw short passes to his tight ends.
