Ray becomes 4th pitcher in D-Backs history with 200-strikeout season

Robbie Ray's breakout season just put him in special company.

With his 200th strikeout Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies, the Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander became the fourth pitcher in franchise history to reach the mark, joining Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, and Dan Haren.

Johnson did it in five of his six seasons with the D-Backs, eclipsing the 300-strikeouts plateau four times. In four seasons with Arizona, Schilling hit 200 strikeouts twice, while Haren did it in his only two seasons with the club.

Ross owned a 4.46 ERA in 28 games coming into Tuesday during his second full-time big-league season. Last year, he struck out 119 batters over 127 2/3 innings of work.
