North America's Gaudreau unfazed by physical U.S., Canada teams

It seems not all were phased by the mayhem that was Canada versus the United States on Friday night.

The two North American clubs engaged in a pulverizing exhibition game, but Team North America forward Johnny Gaudreau quips that his team's biggest asset should help it elude any punishment that comes against the U.S. or Canada.

"It's tough to hit someone you can't catch," Gaudreau said, according to Michael Traikos of the National Post. "We have a fast, skilled team, so we've got to use that to our advantage and when we play against those physical teams, try to shy away from checks and move the puck as quick as possible and get into open seams and use our skill to our advantage."

With a team comprised of players from both countries, Team North America defenseman Morgan Rielly admits it was an odd feeling to watch the U.S-Canada game.

"It was actually pretty funny," Rielly said. "It was a pretty clean divide between Canadians and Americans. I don't know if we were cheering for a team, but we were cheering against the other team. We were more laughing at each other than the game."

Team North America will enjoy their second-straight day off Saturday before it returns to the ice for a rematch against Team Europe. The club kicked off its exhibition schedule with a dominant 4-0 win on Thursday.
