Ex-Seahawk Robinson: Lynch told me he's not coming back

Former Seattle Seahawks fullback Michael Robinson says he's sure ex-teammate Marshawn Lynch will stay retired because that's exactly what Lynch told him.

Rumors swirled Thursday that Lynch is considering a return to the NFL after announcing his retirement at the end of the 2015 season.

Robinson, who now works as an analyst for NFL Network, said in a Friday chat with followers on Periscope that he reached out to Lynch after hearing the rumors to get the straight facts.

"I called Beast Mode," Robinson said. "Record this, everybody, please. Marshawn Lynch is retired. He told me from his own mouth. He said, 'Dude, I'm not going anywhere. I'm as busy as I've ever been.' He's in Africa, he's in Australia, he's all over this world helping people."

Robinson also said he knows what the Seahawks are planning to do during the national anthem in Sunday's season opener (wideout Doug Baldwin has promised a show of unity, perhaps in relation to Colin Kaepernick's recent protests), but doesn't want to spoil the surprise.

"Watch the national anthem," Robinson advised.
