Report: Miami's Stacy Coley cleared of NCAA violation

Mark Dolejs / USA TODAY Sports

Unlike some of his teammates, it appears wide receiver Stacy Coley won't lose his spot with Miami over allegedly receiving improper benefits.

The senior won't be suspended or dismissed after an investigation into NCAA violations involving a luxury rental car agency, a source told Matt Porter of The Palm Beach Post, unless new information emerges.

His former teammates Al-Quadin Muhammad and Jermaine Grace were dismissed for the benefits violation Saturday. Linebacker Juwon Young, who was suspended during the investigation, transferred earlier in August.

Coley wasn't named when the investigation began, but was included later when it expanded to determine the extent of involvement by Miami players.

He's expected to be a top wideout for the Hurricanes in 2016 after finishing his junior campaign as Miami's second-leading receiver with 47 receptions for 689 yards and four touchdowns.
