Report: Jaguars cut former Colts 1st-rounder Werner

Brian Spurlock / USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars released defensive end Bjoern Werner as part of their efforts to trim their roster to 75 players, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Werner, a first-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2013, signed with the Jaguars in May.

He played in 10 games during the 2015 season, making 13 combined tackles. The 26-year-old, who has 6.5 career sacks, is probably a long shot to sign with another team and improve that total.
