Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green left Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after limping off the field with a knee injury.

The Bengals are calling the injury "not serious" and say he would be able to return to the game if it were the regular season, according to Paul Dehner of The Cincinnati Enquirer.

It makes sense to hold out their top offensive weapon as the team is thinner at receiver than years past with the departure of Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu in the offseason.

Brandon LaFell, Tyler Boyd, and Brandon Tate are the Bengals' top pass catchers behind Green, and with Tyler Eifert expected to miss the early part of the season, the team is protecting their passing game for when it counts.

Green is coming off a bounce-back campaign in which he caught 86 passes for 1,297 yards and 10 touchdowns.
