The only NBA championship the Dallas Mavericks have ever won came in 2010-11, and during that postseason run, Shawn Marion, Jason Terry, and Jason Kidd were the team's top scorers not named Dirk Nowitzki.

Fast forward five years and Marion is no longer in the league following his retirement last summer, Terry is the newest member of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Kidd is his coach.

"That's awesome, I love it," Marion said of Terry signing with the Bucks on an undisclosed deal, according to the Star-Telegram's Dwain Price. "They need a great veteran up there."

Terry, who turns 39 in September, is entering his 18th season in the league, having spent the last two with the Houston Rockets. In 72 appearances during the 2015-16 campaign, "The Jet" averaged 5.9 points on 40.2 percent shooting in 17.5 minutes, primarily as a reserve.

While his best days on the hardwood are behind him, Terry can still share his wealth of knowledge and experience with a Bucks roster that includes 10 players 25 or younger, while also offering a steady hand on offense off the bench.

"I just talked to him the other night. I'm happy he's going to join J-Kidd and help him out," Marion said. "He’s a great veteran that can help do some things that can help control the young guys, and he’s going to give them some veteran leadership."

Milwaukee won just 33 games last season after going 41-41 with a playoff appearance the year prior.
