West Ham's attacking unit could have a drastically different look by the time the transfer window closes.

Manager Slaven Bilic added some substance to reports linking the team with forwards Wilfried Bony of Manchester City and Simone Zaza of Juventus, but insisted the team will not be in a panic to make a move in light of recent injuries to Andy Carroll and Andre Ayew.

"In terms of signings, if something good quality-wise comes up, we are going to act," Bilic told reporters ahead of West Ham's Europa League match against Astra Giurgiu on Thursday.

"We were linked with (Zaza) last year and he is a top player. We were in contact with him last year and will see what happens.

"We will not sign someone because we have to act now. The longest injury is Ayew Andre and we expect him to be fit in December."

Bilic added: "(Bony) is also an option because he plays in the position we are looking for. I leave negotiations to the chairman and (head of recruitment) Tony Henry."

A move for Bony would reportedly be a short-term fix, as the Ivory Coast international appears set for a lucrative transfer to the Chinese Super League in January.
