Alabama coach: Southern Illinois transfer Olaniyan not on roster

Bola Olaniyan committed to Alabama as a graduate transfer from Southern Illinois on Aug. 15, but Crimson Tide head coach Avery Johnson said Tuesday the center is "not part of our roster," according to Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News.

Olaniyan, who averaged 7.8 points and 8.8 rebounds, "has a way to go" before he joins 'Bama, Johnson added.

It's unclear what's holding up Olaniyan's transfer. As a graduate student, Olaniyan would be eligible to play for his new school immediately.
