Sanchez hitting way into record books with latest multi-HR game

Joe Nicholson / USA TODAY Sports

No one is stopping Gary Sanchez.

The rookie catcher continued his formidable form on Monday against the Seattle Mariners, launching two home runs to become the first New York Yankees player since "The Yankee Clipper" Joe DiMaggio to record at least 50 total bases in his first 19 games.

Along with equaling "Joltin' Joe," Sanchez has also etched himself into his own echelon in Yankees lore, as the 23-year-old is the first-ever Bronx Bomber to hit eight dingers and have two or more multiple home run games in his first 19 appearances.

Sanchez's hot start also earned him Player of the Week honors from MLB on Monday.
